02:26 pdurbin prologic: I wonder if I should just add https://github.com/prologic/addressbookmvc as a remote and merge it into https://github.com/pdurbin/addressbookmvc periodically
02:26 pdurbin that is to say, I don't necessarily need a pull request
03:01 prologic ahh
03:01 prologic yes you could I suppose
03:01 prologic don't see why not :)
03:01 prologic I *was* going to submit a PR when I was done

10:09 pdurbin I mean, all a pull request does is prompt ("request") someone do to a merge.
10:10 pdurbin I could equally open pull requests on any forks of my repo, asking the forks to merge my lastest changes.
10:10 pdurbin I guess this is not the common git way, however.
10:11 pdurbin Typically, one repo is considered "upstream" and everyone tries to get their changes into it.
10:13 pdurbin People often don't care if the changes are replicated to various copies of the repo. They probably figure that the forks will pull the latest from master, or even blow away their fork and re-fork from master if they have to.

16:52 semiosis it's a common practice to merge from upstream master before submitting a PR
16:54 pdurbin or rebase upstream master under the branch in your fork you plan to submit a PR for, I guess

19:27 sivoais It's not the Git*Hub* way, but pushing around changes is what DVCSs are designed for ;-P
19:49 pdurbin yeah. github users tend to like centralization
19:50 semiosis until the site goes down
20:03 pdurbin yeah
