17:00 cordovafan8 Hello. I'm trying to implement a rest api, and I've read that api endpoints should be nouns not verbs. How should I go about naming an authorization endpoint?
17:00 cordovafan8 I currently have a /auth/  which takes a user id, but this seems to fly in the face of what I've read

17:12 pdurbin we still need to fill in the auth page at https://trygvis.io/rest-wiki/
17:14 fumanchu_ the REST architectural style is for systems that need high scalability, yet are simple, efficient, and can evolve. Authentication subsystems are less secure when they scale easily, are too simple or too efficient, or evolve too rapidly to continue to formally prove their properties. REST is not the style you want for auth.
17:29 cordovafan8 well I'd like to be consistent across my api

19:15 whartung Just use BASIC and HTTPS -- for 99% of use cases (notably, not needing 3rd party trust -- but, even then…) BASIC works
