17:45	fuzzyhorns	does hypermedia just include message affordances, or can it also include URL conventions? OData has some of the latter and Im wondering if that is part of its "hypermedia"ness or just another nice thing that has its own name or related concept
17:47	fuzzyhorns	also: i remember a joke in here about why it's HATEOAS not HATEORS but i dont remember the reasoning. why isnt hypermedia the engine of resource state?

17:57	fumanchu	resources can change state in lots of ways. consider a simple ordering system--the available stock may be updated by all kinds of subsystems that aren't RESTful

18:06	fuzzyhorns	also http://amundsen.com/hypermedia/hfactor/#li seems odd to me given it's not in a markup lang but an actually interpreted lang

18:10	fumanchu	if your media type is telling you what HTTP methods to send it's overstepping its bounds into a protocol
18:12	fumanchu	although I suppose that DELETE example is trying to say, "you can perform a DELETE if you want to with HTML + JS"

18:27	fuzzyhorns	i think arguably part of their job should be to offer constructions of the right protocol semantics to move through states
