14:36 trygvis definitely
14:38 pdurbin seems like a better home than a mailing list
14:40 trygvis yeah
14:42 pdurbin if only markdown had native support for tables :)
14:43 trygvis I can enable the multimarkdown support, then it'll have tables
14:44 trygvis I did that on my own wiki
14:45 pdurbin gotcha

17:30 charginghawk in OData, is there an easy way to get a list of all entities
17:31 charginghawk I've got an endpoint but no documentation on it
17:41 whartung No, it's OData, there's not an easy way to do anything.
17:41 charginghawk ha

18:03 fuzzyhorns mamund: been reading the hypermedia-oriented design paper you recommended, only ish i have so far is i think uri-oriented is a subset of client bound to procedure signature list

19:27 pdurbin whartung and sfisque: check this out. Shib 3 to allow attribute release by end users: http://irclog.perlgeek.de/shibboleth/2015-06-05#i_10707250
19:28 Char I am writing a REST service, and how would I handle currencies and i18n values , for example if my REST api has to return 29$ , would I just return the integer value, or the whole value as string? the problem returning it as string is that on front end no calculations can be done with it, since it is just string. so what is the best practice for this kind of thing? thanks
19:29 pdurbin Char: maybe you could use https://github.com/cognitect/transit-format

22:46 pdurbin whartung: I am pro empowering the user to decide when to release attributes (email address or whatever)
22:47 whartung I don't even know what that means. You mean whether those attributes are pushed in the AuthnResponse after authentication?
22:47 pdurbin whartung: yeah, that's what I mean
22:47 whartung ok
22:47 pdurbin just like how OAuth works
22:47 pdurbin well
22:48 pdurbin at least with OAuth I can see what is being requested
22:48 whartung but that has nothing to do with the SP, but rather the IdP, right?
22:48 whartung I mean, I never checked, can you "ask for" a list of attributes in the AuthnRequest?
22:49 pdurbin not sure
22:49 kevinswiber joined #rest
22:49 whartung I know we don't look at that, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. We control on the IdP what attrs are pushed.
22:50 pdurbin sure but what if the user could decide to withold his email address or whatever
22:52 whartung obviously we'd have to tweak the IdP to support such a user preference.
22:52 whartung but we don't...
22:54 pdurbin whartung: but that would apply to all the SPs, right?
22:54 pdurbin anyway. dinner time
22:54 whartung depends on how we do it, we support different attributes for different SPs
22:54 whartung bon appetite...
22:55 whartung just not the user controlling which of their configured attributes are shared.
