07:52 ruibritopt Any good examples out there how to build authentication and verification for RESTful web services ??
07:53 ruibritopt in Java :)
07:56 Jarda http://projects.spring.io/spring-security-oauth/docs/oauth2.html ?
08:01 ruibritopt Jarda: is oAuth the best way to go?
08:01 Jarda IMO
08:04 ruibritopt Jarda: doesnt it force a user to have an account if the "token" provider
08:04 ruibritopt Jarda: could be a stupid question
08:05 Jarda ?
08:06 Jarda I write my RESTful APIs so that my service is the provider self too
08:06 lemur joined #rest
08:06 Jarda OAuth2 is not just for authenticating users with google/facebook
08:07 marcoslamuria joined #rest
08:08 ruibritopt Jarda: okay, I have questions in how do you save the token that are generated? DB. This for when the client sends a requests whit such token, so we can verify authenticity
08:09 Jarda I'm 100% sure there are a ton of materials of how to secure APIs with Oauth2 provider implementation with Java
08:09 Jarda I have never done this with Java
08:09 Jarda but with node.js it's just a matter of implementing a provider library
08:10 Jarda so yes, the tokens are stored in DB
08:10 ruibritopt Jarda: so I go for OAuth 1 or 2. and what is your opinion of OpenID btw?

08:11 ruibritopt Jarda: I meant to say - should I go for OAuth 1 or 2. And what is your opinion of OpenID btw?
08:11 Jarda I don't have experience on OpenID
08:11 Jarda and definitely Oauth2
08:13 ruibritopt I am using the Spring with the Jersey Framework to map my endpoints, and I believe Jersey only has v1. would it be so bad to use v1 ?

08:17 ruibritopt Jarda: is there any real difference between 2 and 3 legged oauth?
08:17 Jarda ruibritopt: now you have to refer google
08:18 ruibritopt Jarda: of course. thank you for your help :)
