00:03 pdurbin huh. http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/i-took-an-arrow-in-the-knee
01:59 sfisque i like idea too, BUT it's hella spendy and the free version is almost as bad as ecilpse
02:12 pdurbin netbeans is pretty good for being completely free and open source
05:34 aditsu recent netbeans seems nice, but I'm too used to eclipse :p
05:39 aditsu sfisque: haha, what's bad about eclipse?
11:37 pulsar besides the fact, that i call it apocalypse?
11:37 pulsar UX is horrible IMHO.
11:58 pdurbin it must be tolerable if aditsu doesn't mind it. I haven't used it in a while
13:23 aditsu as long as you make it use gtk2 rather than 3, it's pretty nice
13:24 aditsu also, the popular eclipse downloads seem to include a lot of junk, I get the platform runtime binary and then add only what I want
13:25 aditsu of course, that junk may be core requirements for other people :p
13:29 pdurbin I get the impression that Eclipse is used a lot within Red Hat/JBoss. I'm not sure why.

16:28 sfisque eclipse is used by alot of corporate sdks (websphere dev studio, flex builder, etc.)  i'm guessing because it is easy to rebrand based on its design
16:29 pdurbin hmm. but android studio is based on idea
16:30 sfisque yah and jmonkey is based on netbeans.  there are "outliers", but from what i've seen, eclipse seems to be poison of choice for corp sdk builders
16:32 pdurbin what is that spring thing based on?
16:32 pdurbin ah. also eclipse: https://spring.io/tools/sts
16:33 pdurbin "Spring Tool Suite"
