ah, I found something helpful: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/26313497/whats-the-simplest-way-to-convert-a-string-array-to-an-int-array-using-java-8 |

aditsu: which functional language(s) are you comparing it to? |
11:21 |
|
aditsu |
not exactly functional, but mainly Python and CJam :p |

Python isn't functional |
11:22 |

aditsu: anyway, you're still happy enough with java 8? I'd like to switch our project to it some day |
11:28 |
|
aditsu |
well, it's not worse than java 6, because I can still write the same kind of code :p and the new features are helpful sometimes, but I need to get used to them |

when I switched from 6 to 7 my IDE would sometimes suggest new language features. most commonly the diamond operator |

aditsu |
yeah, that's nice |
