14:40 Sudip7 is module.info.java is similar to package.info.java?
14:41 JavaGhost joined #virtualJUG
14:41 eudriscabrera in module.info you have to define the modules dependencies
14:42 Sudip7 so can we use package.info.java after java9?

14:42 drgeb how does this affect inversion of control containers like CDI, Spring,Guice ?

15:10 sjmaple @rimaz the runtime doesn't really take any notice of that module version
15:10 rimaz so what is its use cases?
15:11 manikmagar should we be using latest openjdk build 181?
15:11 sjmaple @rimaz certainly not in the dynamic linking way you'd expect - it's not akin to the way OSGi versions are used for instance
15:11 sjmaple @manikmagar yep
15:11 sjmaple @rimaz I believe it's just for user info - similar to JAR versions
15:11 cuent @sjmaple thanks!
15:11 rimaz thanks

15:19 ishan1 @sjmaple: got it. I should read the whole file as mani said
15:20 rimaz is there any explanation of modular development on IDEs like NetBeans or IntelliJ?
15:20 mani1 Sudip7: have a read of the README.md in the git repo, either of the options are good, all depends on what level of challenge do you want
15:21 Sudip7 https://thepasteb.in/p/zmh8o46OVp5cZ
15:21 Sudip7 should that be ok
15:22 sjmaple @rimaz I don't know if there are official docs, probs not...
15:22 mani1 rimaz: at the moment not, but we will soon be having, someone is putting together a nice one for Eclipse, see https://github.com/AdoptOpenJDK/jdk9-jigsaw/pull/111
15:22 sjmaple I read a blog from Trisha about how to use modules with Idea
15:22 zcube Little bit lost, as I joined late. So first is the workspace setup?
15:23 JavaGhost joined #virtualJUG
15:23 ishan1 In 01_Greetings there is a folder name "com.greetings" and a module.java which has module name "com.greetings". So these both names should be exactly same?
15:23 sjmaple https://blog.jetbrains.com/idea/2017/03/support-for-java-9-modules-in-intellij-idea-2017-1/
15:23 mani1 rimaz: have a look at https://github.com/AdoptOpenJDK/jdk9-jigsaw/blob/master/Java-9-Resources.md, you should find useful posts for that
15:23 sjmaple @ishan1 they actually don't have to be, which makes it a bit confusing...
15:23 sjmaple but the declaration in module.info will be the module name used
15:24 ishan1 @sjmaple I will try once making it different

15:30 ishan1 @mani1 It is working now.
15:31 mani1 so what went wrong? did you not compile it?
15:31 ishan1 "java.lang.module.FindException: Two versions of module com.greetings found in mods (com.greetings1 and com.greetings)"  These error comes when the modules are compiled with same name

18:05 mani1 cuent: its to locate the folder where the source files are, you need to use the script or look at the scripts to see what happening
